Translation:Shulchan Aruch/Orach Chaim/289

289: Sequence of the Shabbos Morning Meal. Contains 2 seifim.

1 One's table should be set and a couch should be spread nicely and a cloth spread, as was done for the night meal. And one should bless over the wine "...Who creates the fruit of the vine" and this is called Kidusha Rabbah. And afterwards, one should wash his hands (and see above, Siman 271, Seif 12, in the Gloss) and should break on double bread like at night, and should feast. And this kiddush also needs to be in the location of a meal and that one should not partake of anything prior to it, like with the kiddush of the night. And nonetheless, to drink water in the morning before prayer, is permitted, because the obligation of kiddush has not yet fallen upon him. Gloss: And see above all the laws of kiddush, Siman 271, 272, 273.

2 In a place where wine is not found, liquor and other drinks except for the water have the status of "wine of the country", and one makes kiddush over it. And if one does not even have liquor and other drinks, one eats without kiddush.
