287: Comforting Mourners and Visiting the Sick on Shabbos.

1 We could comfort mourners on Shabbat, and likewise, we may visit the sick. And one should not speak to him like the way he speaks to him on a weekday. Rather, he says to him: "It is Shabbos, when it is forbidden to cry out; and healing will come soon, and His mercies are abundant; and rest on Shabbos ​in tranquility". Gloss: And there are those who say that one does not need to say "and His mercies are abundant" and such is the custom. (Rambam, Chapter 24).
