279: Laws of Carrying the Lamp on Shabbat. Contains 7 seifim.
1 It is forbidden to move a lamp that was lit on that Shabbos even though it has gone out. And the leftover oil that's in a lamp that was lit on that Shabbos is forbidden to move it / to use from it on that Shabbos as well.
2 This candle, which we said that it's forbidden to move, is forbidden even when it is needed and when its place is needed. And there is an authority that permitted. And his words do not seem correct. Gloss: And some say that one who is finicky and the lamp disgusts him is permitted to remove it, for it is for him as a night pan. And one who is stringent did not lose out. (Mordechai, beginning of Beitzah).

It is forbidden to move a lamp by placing bread on it on Shabbat. And if one placed the bread on it while it is still day, there's an authority that permits to move it on Shabbat via this bread. And one should not rely on him.

If on the eve of Shabbat, one stipulated that he may move this lamp after it will burn out, he is permitted to move it after it burnt out.
Gloss: And there are those who say that a stipulation is of no avail, and this is the custom in these countries. And the law of the stipulation, see below, Siman 638. 7 A lamp – whether a large one or a small one – if it is assembled from component parts, it is forbidden to move it, for we are concerned lest it fall and break into its component parts, and one will reassemble it, causing him to be liable for building a utensil. And even if it is not assembled from component parts, but it has grooves around it and resembles one assembled from component parts, it is forbidden to move it.
