Translation:Raven
What sort of beggar is that?
He's wearing a little coal-black coat
and in this wintertime he's walking
to every door far and wide,
calling in a sad tone: Caw! Caw!
Give me a bone too.
Then the dear spring arrived,
the beggar was greatly pleased;
he spread his wings out
and flew away, far above the house.
High in the air, so fresh and cheery:
Thanks be to you! he called down.
