DIC′LINOUS PLANT (Gk. δι-, di-, double + κλίνειν, klinein, to incline). A plant which has stamens and pistils in separate flowers. If the two kinds of flowers are on the same individual, the plant is called ‘monœcious’; if on different individuals, ‘diœcious.’ See Pollination.
