This enabled the Alumnae to:

Maintain the Alumnac House
Give the College
$192,000

So Smith was able to:

Keep tuition down
Raise faculty salaries
Increase scholarships
Install sprinkler systems

Smith pays $300 annually for each student.

To increase tuition to cover all costs would exclude many able students.

Without the regular annual giving of its alumnae, no private college could survive. The youth of America would become dependent on Federal and State supported institutions.
