- Her death. "Ruth E. Borland, 76, of Sacramento Ave., Chicago, died at residence Friday Retired clerk from Rheem, Inc. Survivors brother Weldon E. of Akron and nephew Jeff of Lucas, Ohio. Services Tuesday 1 p m. from Lindsay Funeral Home, Dennision, Ohio. Burial at Bowerston cemetery."

- Death of her father. "James C. Borland, 83, widely known Bowerston merchant, was found dead in his home there yesterday morning at 10:30 by Claude Gordon of Bowerston. Death was due to a stroke and occurred sometime Monday night. Mr. Borland operated a general store in Bowerston for the past 40 years. A life long resident of that vicinity, he was born September 27, 1877, son of the late James and Catherine Walker Borland. Surviving are one son, Weldon Borland of Kent and a daughter, Miss Ruth Borland of Akron. Funeral services will be conducted at the Boor Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Thursday with Rev. C. W. Walter officiating. Burial will be in Long View Cemetery, Bowerston. The body is at the Boor Funeral Home."

- Visiting friends. "Mrs. J. C. Borland and daughter Ruth have returned to their home in Bowerstown, after attending the County Fair and visiting over the weekend with Mrs. Effie Tredway near Roscoe."
- Death of her grandfather. "After suffering for the past two years from Bright's disease, Samuel Miller, aged 61, died at his home near West Bedford Tuesday morning at 8 o'clock. It has been known for the past two weeks that the stricken man could not survive and death came as release from his many months of suffering. Mr. Miller was a prominent farmer of the West Bedford vicinity, having lived on the home farm for the past thirty years. He was a member of the M. E. church having been confirmed while in his boyhood. In addition to the widow the deceased is survived by two daughters and one son: Mrs. James Couthren Borland of Bowerston, Mrs. John Winnet Beadle of Massillon and Earl Smith Miller of West Bedford. Funeral services will be held from the late home Thursday morning with Reverend Halsall in charge. Interment will be made in the Valley View Cemetery."
