Ralph Kohlman (1884-1957) was a Freemason and a Shriner. He was the half owner of Elliot Electrotype and Stereotype and Mat Company of New York City. - 3 Charity Funds, Friends Share in Kohlman Estate (1957 June 26)
- His estate. "Two Masonic charity funds are to get $4,000 from the estate of Ralph Kohlman, who left cash bequests totaling $34,000, according to his will filed for probate with Surrogate Donald G. Dutcher. Mr. Kohlman, who lived at 60 Crane Avenue, Rutherford, died June 2. He was 72 years old and was in the electrotyping business in New York City. He left $2,000 each to the Masonic Charity Foundation and Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital. He also left $2,000 to the Bergen County Heart Association. Other bequests were $3,000 each to his sisters, Mrs. Pauline Franklin and Mrs. Sadie Casper; $3,000 each to a sister-in-law, Mrs. Clara Freudenberg a nephew, Ralph Freudenberg and two friend's, George Sanford and Harry Schnitzer. To another friend, May Holbrook, he willed $5,000, and still another friend, Samuel E. Barison, $2,000. He gave $3,000 to the East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Delawanna, for maintaining the mausoleum for his late wife, Ada. To another friend, Dorothy Rommel, he left all his personal belongings including his car. Mr. Kohlman was a member of the Rising Star Lodge, F. and A.M., Jersey City."

- His death. "Ralph Kohlman, 73, of 60 Crane Street formerly of Jersey City, died yesterday morning in Hasbrouck Heights Hospital of a heart ailment. He was admitted Saturday. Born in Hoboken he had lived here 14 years. Mr. Kohlman was proprietor of an electrotyping company in New York City. He was a member of Rising Star Lodge, F. and A. M, Jersey City. He was the husband of the late Augusta Freudenberg. Survivors include one brother, Wolfe, and two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Casper and Mrs. Pauline Franklin."

- Death of his wife. "Mrs. Ada Augusta Freudenberg Kohlman, 60 Crane Avenue, died Wednesday in her home after a short illness. A former resident of Jersey City and Hoboken, she had resided in this borough 14 years. Surviving are her husband, Ralph; two sisters, Miss Clara Freudenberg and Mrs. Grace Sanford; three brothers, Arthur, Richard and Ralph Freudenberg."
- Death of his father. "The funeral of Isaac Kohlman veteran employee of the Metropolitan Insurance Company and prominent some fifteen years ago in Republican political circles of Hudson County was held this morning from his late residence 1231 Park avenue, Hoboken. Interment was made in Mount Hope Cemetery, Brooklyn. The deceased died at his late home on Sunday night following an illness of more than two years. He was 67 years old. Mr. Kohlman came to this country from France where he was born, when a youth. He had been in the insurance business for more than two decades and had risen to the post of assistant superintendent at the Hoboken office. He had resided in the Mile Square City over thirty years. His widow Mrs. Rachel Kohlman and four daughters survive."
