"The funeral of Mrs. Nora Belle Skinner, 81, of 640 Palisade Avenue, a Jersey City resident for 25 years, who died Saturday at the Medical Center, will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. Mrs. Skinner was born in Westbrookville, New York. The Otto Mack Funeral Home. Jersey City, is in charge of arrangements."
Death of her second husband. "Algernon Skinner, 78, of 9 Hancock Avenue, died of gangrene in a leg Thursday at the Medical Center, where he had been a patient since November 7. The funeral was to be held today. He was born in Port Orange, New York, where he been a farmer until his retirement 20 years ago, when he moved to Jersey City. Mr. Skinner is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nora Skinner nee Piatt; his sons, George and Robert Skinner; his daughters. Mrs. Winifred McManus and Mrs. Florence Freudenberg, and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Nora Freudenberg."
Death of her father. "After an illness of long duration. William L. Piatt, aged 83 years, four months and 15 days, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 1918 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William McDowell, 18 Mill street. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel N. Piatt, and was born at Westbrookville, where he had always lived, being a farmer by occupation. He was a veteran of the Civil War of 1864-1865, serving under Captain John S. Hicks, as a private of Co. K, 20th Regiment of New York Provisional Cavalry, being a volunteer. He enlisted January 20, 1864. By special order he was discharged August 9, 1865, at Louisville, Kentucky. He is survived by the following children: John Piatt, of Cuddebackville; Mary Piatt, wife of James Needham, of Newburgh; David Piatt, of near Yankee Lake; Bertha Janette Piatt, wife of Floyd Griffin, of Westbrookville; Nora Belle Piatt, wife of Algernon Skinner, of Winterton; George Piatt and Clarence Piatt, of this city. Also, one brother, Daniel Harrison Platt, of Westbrookvile. The funeral services will be held Friday at 2 o'clock, at the Methodist Church, Westbrookville."
