Poems (Mary Coleridge)/Poem 190
CXCSAY THIS
Say that I lived a life of sun and storm,
Tho' sun prevailed.
Say that I saw an ever blesséd form,
And strove and failed.
Tho' sun prevailed.
Say that I saw an ever blesséd form,
And strove and failed.
Say that I spent on love my latest breath,
And spent it well.
Say that I died a happy soldier's death,
And fighting fell.
And spent it well.
Say that I died a happy soldier's death,
And fighting fell.
