Refrain
The song is stilled, but throbbing deep
The dearest tones resound again;
Courage and truth rise with the strain,
To weary hearts, Rest's sweet, refrain;
We silence the glad voice in vain,
The tones but mutely rise again;
O keep love's faith alight our eyes!
When love's glow fails true honor dies;
And keep our trust firm in love's power,
Nor let it fail the waning hour,
When mists of sleep drift from the sea
And clasp us in their mystery.
The dearest tones resound again;
Courage and truth rise with the strain,
To weary hearts, Rest's sweet, refrain;
We silence the glad voice in vain,
The tones but mutely rise again;
O keep love's faith alight our eyes!
When love's glow fails true honor dies;
And keep our trust firm in love's power,
Nor let it fail the waning hour,
When mists of sleep drift from the sea
And clasp us in their mystery.
