Took some special work on diseases of women and children at Vienna. Has given several addresses on Missions of the Orient (the ones visited on her trip). Supporting and educating a child in India. Interested in the civic betterment of Ames; established the first sanitary drinking fountains on the streets and a rest room in Ames. Has addressed most of the Ames Women's Clubs at different times. Buffalo State Normal School, Buffalo, N.Y.; course in kindergarten at Working Man's School, under direction of Society of Ethical Culture, N.Y. City. Organized Elmwood School of Buffalo (a private school), of which she and Miss Jessica Beer were co-principals for several years. Especially interested in presenting history to beginners (children under 10 years) and in trying to reach educators in regard to this work; also in interpretative reading to children as a means of educating the child's taste for literature. Favors woman suffrage. Author of books for children: The Earliest People; People of the Middle Ages. Mem. Audubon Soc. of Buffalo and of N.Y. City.
