A LIST
OF
THE STATUTORY ORDERS OF A LOCAL CHARACTER,
Issued during 1924,
ARRANGED IN CLASSES .
CLASS 1.—ROADS AND ROAD VEHICLES . 2.—RAILWAYS, TRAMROADS, TRAMWAYS, AND TRACKLESS TROLLEY SYSTEMS . 3.—CANALS , Rivers, and NAVIGATIONS . 4.—HARBOURS , DOCKS, PORTS, PIERS, AND QUAYS. 5.—LOCAL GOVERNMENT, POOR LAW, AND PUBLIC HEALTH 6.—LIGHTING, POWER AND HEATING . 7.—DRILL GROUNDS, RANGES AND RECREATION GROUNDS. 8.—WATER SUPPLY. 9.—CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATIONS AND INSTITUTIONS (INCLUDING SCOTTISH EDUCATION AREAS AND AUTHORITIES). 10.—FISHERIES, WILD BIRDS, AND DISEASES OF ANIMALS AND PLANTS . 11.—DRAINAGE. 12.—PILOTAGE .
Note.—This classification follows, so far as the differences between the fields covered by Local Acts and Local S.R. & O. permit, that formerly employed in the Annual 8vo Volume of the Statutes. Until the year 1920 that volume of Statutes contained (in addition to the full text of Public and General Legislation) a classified list of Local Acts; but since 1920 information respecting Local Acts has been omitted therefrom, tables and an index of Local and Private Acts being published separately.
In the following list a note is prefixed to each class showing whether or no the Orders therein mentioned have been printed and put on sale in S.R. & 0. form under the Rules Publication Act. In every case (save where otherwise specified) the date of the Order is that of the year 1924 and the number in brackets is that of the Statutory Order of that year.
<r1> Judicial Matters.—Orders affecting the administration of justice though relating only to a particular area, are deemed for S.R. & O. purposes to be "Public and General." They are, therefore, omitted from this classified list of Local Orders (with the exception of an Order relating to the jurisdiction of the South Staffs. stipendiary magistrate listed in Class 5A (x. )) and are printed at length in the text.
