Return to open Stowage of Ullage Casks of Spirit after Bottling Operations.

The Board direct that when a portion only of the contents of a cask of spirits is bottled in bond for exportation, the cask may, if the ullage quantity is not less than nine gallons, be returned to open stowage, on condition that it be deposited at once in a portion of the bonded warehouse specially set apart for the purpose, securely railed off and under Crown locks.

The allowance of 2 per cent. for loss is to be calculated on the quantity actually drawn off for bottling; the spirit remaining in the casks being subject to the ordinary regulations as to losses in open warehouse.

A note of the concession now granted is to be made against paragraph 421 of the Code.
