The Republic of Zambia and the Republic of India, hereinafter referred to as the “Contracting Parties”;

Informed by similar social, cultural and philosophical values:

Recognizing the similar legal framework and commonalities of legal jurisprudence under which Judiciary of both the countries function;

Inspired by the cordial and friendly relations existing between the two couniries and their peoples; and

Desirous of developing, promoting and strengthening mutual cooperation between the judiciaries of two countries:

Have concluded this Memorandum of Understanding hereinafter referred to as MoU, as follows:

Article 1

The Contracting Parties hereby agree to develop, promote and strengthen bilateral judicial cooperation.

Article 2

The Contracting Parties shall promote mutual interaction among judges and officials at various levels of the judiciaries through programmes such as exchange of visits, short and long terms trainings and academic programmes.

Article 3

Article 3

The Contracting Parties shall encourage mutual exchange of information on latest developments in the field of law and justice.
