PROGRAMME OF COOPERATION

The Government of the Republic of India, as a matter of policy, has decided to share its experience and expertise in space activities with other countries. The Government of the Republic of India will provide the following trainings to the officials and students from Brunei Darussalam on space technologies applications at various facilities under Department of Space (the number of trainings, participants and the modalities of organizing the trainings will be evolved through mutual consultation):

(i) Short-term training courses of about 1-2 weeks duration, for decision makers of Brunei Darussalam to highlight the importance of space technology inputs in various developmental activities including natural resources management, environment monitoring, governance and disaster management support.

(ii) Medium-term training courses, of about 4 weeks duration, for officials/ students of Brunei Darussalam on specific themes of space technology applications, including agriculture, forestry, fisheries, environment, etc.

(iii) Long-term courses, of about 9 months durations, for the students and researchers from Brunei Darussalam on space technology applications including Earth observation, satellite communication and satellite navigation.

PARAGRAPH 7

REVISION, AMENDMENT AND MODIFICATION

The Participants may revise, amend or modify all or part of this Memorandum of Understanding by mutual written consent of the Participants. Such revision, amendment or modification, if mutually agreed upon, will come into effect on such date as may be mutually determined by the Participants.

PARAGRAPH 8

EFFECTIVE DATE AND VALIDITY

8.1 This Memorandum of Understanding will come into effect from the date of its signing by the Participants and will remain in force for a period of five (5) years. Thereafter, it will be automatically renewed for subsequent periods of five years till termination by either of the Participants as per Paragraph 8.2 below. This Memorandum of Understanding supersedes the 2008 MOU.

8.2 Either Participant may terminate this Memorandum of Understanding by giving a written notice of its intention to terminate it to the other Participant at least six (6) months in advance.
