For to make grewel forced[1].

Take grewel and do to the fyre with gode fleſsh and ſeeþ it wel. take the lire[2] of Pork and grynd it ſmal[3] and drawe the grewel thurgh a Syno᷑[4] and colo᷑ it wiþ Safron̄ and ue[5] forth.

Caboches[6] in Potage.

Take Caboch᷒ and quar hē and ſeeth hem in gode broth with Oynon̄s y mynced and the whyte of Lekes y ſlyt and corue ſmale[7] and do þ᷒ to ſafron̄ ā ſalt and force it wt powdō douce.[8]

Rapes[9] in Potage.

Take rapus and make hē clene and waiſsh hē clene. quare hem[10]. boile hē. take hem up. caſt hem in a gode broth and ſeeþ hē. mynce Oynon̄s and caſt þ᷒ to

  1. forced, farced, enriched with fleſh. Vide Gloſſ.
  2. lire. Fleſh.
  3. grynd it ſmal. Bruiſe or beat in a mortar.
  4. ſtȳno'. Strainer.
  5. sūe. Serve. Vide Gloſſ.
  6. Caboches. Probably cabbages.
  7. corue ſmale. Cut ſmall. V. i corue in Gloſſ.
  8. powdō douce. Sweet aromatic powder. V. Pref.
