For to make grewel forced[1].

Take grewel and do to the fyre with gode fleſsh and ſeeþ it wel. take the lire[2] of Pork and grynd it ſmal[3] and drawe the grewel thurgh a St̄yno᷑[4] and colo᷑ it wiþ Safron̄ and s̄ue[5] forth.

Take Caboch᷒ and quart̄ hē and ſeeth hem in gode broth with Oynon̄s y mynced and the whyte of Lekes y ſlyt and corue ſmale[7] and do þ᷒ to ſafron̄ ā ſalt and force it wt powdō douce.[8]

Take rapus and make hē clene and waiſsh hē clene. quare hem[10]. ꝑboile hē. take hem up. caſt hem in a gode broth and ſeeþ hē. mynce Oynon̄s and caſt þ᷒ to

  3. ↑ grynd it ſmal. Bruiſe or beat in a mortar.
  4. ↑ ſtȳno'. Strainer.
