The above has been introduced to supply Chess-players with a cheap Chess Board that is sufficiently large to be used with ordinary sized Chessmen (as Nos. xxx or 000 Staunton), and that can be easily packed away into a small space. It measures 16in. when open, and shuts up into a case measuring about 1 1/2in square, forming a firm board that may be used without a table, or for playing in a railway carriage. For travelling it will prove itself specially useful, and can be easily packed into handbag or portmanteau.
