Muhammad Yar Khan, J^Ji <i.*3=*, the son of Aitmad Khan, nobleman of the time of the emperor 'Alamgir. Muhammad Yusaf, '-^^ <^-^, a native of Kabul, who came to India and was employed in the service of the emperor Akbar. He was a good poet and died in the year 1562 A. D., 970 A. H. Muhammad Yusaf >Ali Khan Bahadur, "^^^ ^yl^ v-a^wjj^ the present loyal nawab of Eamplir (1859 — 1872) who succeeded Muhammad Said Khan in 1855. Muhammad Zahid, Mir, '^^^j <^*'^'° j^*, son of Muhammad Aslam, an author who flourished in the reign of Shah Jahan and 'Alamgir, and died in the year 1690 A. D., 1101 A. H. Muhammad Zaman, 'i-*=^, a celebrated punster and i)oet of Persia, who came to India in the reign of Akbar, but after a few years returned to his native coun- try where he died some years before or after 1600 A. D. Muhammad Zaman, (j'-^j i^+^j vide Kasim Khan, Siibadar of Kabul. Muhip Narayan, i^ib^'^ Y^V°> raja of Banares, he was living in 1789 A. D., nephew of Eaja Cheyt Singh and grandson of Eaja Balwunt Singh. The Eaja's daugh- ter was wife of Babu Dirgbijai Singh, from whom the present Maharaja is descended. Muhi, LS'^} takhallus of a poet who flourished about the year 1592 A. D., 1001 A. H., and is the author of a Diwan. Muhit, vide Eamjas Munshf. Muhi-uddin, liji'^-'t (j^> author of a heroic poem called " Tarikh Najib-nama," in praise of Najfb Khan, styled Najib-uddaula, an Afghan chief who distinguished himself during the reign of the unfortunate 'Alamgir II, emperor of Dehli. Muhi-uddin bin-Arahi, Shaikh, (Arabic characters) is'. cA, a celebrated learned Muhammadan of Persia, who was bom in 1166 A, D., 561 A. H., died in 1230, A. D., 637 A. H., and is buried at Damascus. He is the author of a work in Arabic called " Fatuhat Makkia," vide Ibn-Arabi. Muhi-uddin Abdul Kadir bin-Abi ul-Wafa, (Arabic characters), vide 'Abdul Kadir bin 'Abi ul-Wafa Misrf. Muhi-uddin Tusi, Shaikh, t?r>-'= a native of Tus, and author of the work called " Kanz ul-'Ashikin," a treatise on divine love ; abridged from the " Kimia-e-Sa'adat." He was a co-temporary of 'Umar Mirza, and was Hving in 1408 A. D., 811 A. H. Muhi-uddin, iui'^^^ij,^} author of the work called " Irshad Yafa'i." Muhib, V"^'^; poetical name of Sayyad Ghulam Nabi of Bilgram who was slain in a battle which took place between Nawab Safdar Jang and Ahmad Khan, Nawab of Furrukhabad on the 5th February, 1762 A. D., 29th Safar, 1165 A. H. Muhib, V'^j poetical name of Shaikh Wali-ullah of Dehli, who was a pupil of Sauda, and is the author of a Diwan. Muhib-uddin Said Hasan al-Yaghawi, <^ir^ (j^'^-'l V^'^j surnamed Guz, an author who died in 1132 A. D., 526 A. H. Muhita-Ullah, Kazi, <£'^'^> who, in the reign of 'Alamgir, was appointed Kazi of Lakhnau and after- wards of Haidarabad in the Dakhin. On the accession of Bahadur Shah to the throne of Dehli, 1707 A. D., 1119 A. H., he was honoured with the Sadarat of all India. He is the author of several works, among which are the " Kitab Sallam," and " Muslim." Muhindar Singh, Maharaja, ^e^b^t* Raja of Bhadawar (1870).. Muhib-ullah, Shaikh, a pirzada of Allahabad who died there in the year 1648 A. D., 1058 A. H. He is the author of a work called " 'Ibadat ul Khawas" on Ethics. Muhsin 'Ali Khan, Sayyad, (Arabic characters), the son of Sayyad Shah Husain, the son of Sayyad Arab Shah, was an excellent poet, and is the author of a Diwan and a biography of Urdu poets called " Sarapa Sakhun." Muhsin Fani, l5^^ an excellent poet and au- thor, whose proper name was Shaikh Muhammad Muhsin and poetical title Fani. He held the appointment of Sadarat of the province of Allahabad for several years in the time of the emperor Shah Jahan ; and when that monarch conquered Balkh in 1646 A. D., 1056 A. H., amongst the spoil which fell into the hands of the em- peror belonging to Nazar Muhammad Khan, the ruler of that province, was a Diwan composed by Muhsin Fani which he had sent as a present to that ruler with verses in his praise; this annoyed the emperor, and Muhsin was forthwith dismissed £i-om his oflice. He received, however, a small pension and passed the remainder of his life at Kashmir where he died in 1670 A. D., 1081 A. H. His Diwdn contains about 7,000 verses.
