amount of material, but it is so arranged that it loses much of the benefit that it might afford to the exhibitors and to the public. Brazil makes a fairly good exhibit, while Chile, Ecuador and other South American countries are also represented. The South Africa diamond exhibit is very interesting as showing the mode of occurrence, methods of mining and washing, and cutting the diamonds. The exhibits of Great Britain, Germany, Japan and other foreign countries are also of interest. La Societé "Le Nickel" of France makes a very interesting exhibit of its nickel ore in New Caledonia, the nickel derived from it, pictures of the mine and various other interesting features of the industry.

Many others of the numerous exhibits of American and foreign products in the Mines and Mining Building might be mentioned, but lack of space forbids further elaboration. The same cause makes it necessary to discuss in another article the extensive and excellent exhibition of the United States Survey in the Government Building.
