The rock, in its most altered condition being a semi-crystalline schist, and in other parts showing less change, can be connected with its original state. Had the folding been more intense, it is reasonable to suppose that the entire rock would have been transformed into a completely crystalline quartz-schist, showing no evidence of clastic origin, and possible the foliation throughout would have corresponded to the original bedding.
