within the said city of Chester, and county of the same city; and that William Wilme, Hugh Grosvenor, John Spark, William Wilson, Randal Oulton, Francis Skellerne, William Allen, William Starkey, Henry Bennett, William Bennett, Valentine Short, and Peter Bennett, severally were also Aldernien, and each of them was an Alderman of the said city of Chester; and that Edward Starkey and Jonathan Whitby, then Sheriff's, James Hutchinson, and Randal Vause, then Leave-lookers, John Johnson, John White, Randal Holme, Elizeus Lloyd, Bradford Thropp, John Gouldbourn, Richard Taylor the elder, Richard Taylor the younger, John Minshall, Joseph Dyason, John Crichley, Caldecot Aldersey, Edward Partington, Randal Oulton, John Burroughs, Puleston Partington, Samuel Heath, Richard Oulton, Thomas Maddockes, Thomas Waringham, Henry Crosby, William Francis, Theodorus Aldcroft, Richard Brett, Thomas Holland, Matthew Anderton, Thomas Johnson, John Warrington, Nathaniel Bullen, Charles Pindar, Hugh Bartley, Griffith Trygan, John Hale, Robert Moulson, Ralph Poole, and Edward Croughton, severally were Common-Councilmen of the said city of Chester, to wit, on the same day and year last above-mentioned, at the city of Chester aforesaid, in the [347] county of the same city; and that no other persons or person whatsoever then were or was Aldermen or Common-Councilmen, or an Alderman or Common-Councilman of the said [city] of Chester. And the said Coroner and Attorney of our sovereign Lord the now King, for our said Lord the now King, further says, that the said last-mentioned persons so being Aldermen and Common-Councilmen of the said city, and there being no other person or persons whatsoever Aldermen or Common-Councilmen, or an Alderman or Common-Councilman of the said city of Chester, his late Majesty King James the Second, afterwards, to wit, on the 12th day of August, which was in the year of our Lord 1688, by his order in privy-council, made in execution of the power reserved to the said late King Charles the Second, his heirs and successors, in and by the said letters patent, made in the thirty-seventh year of the reign of the said late King Charles the Second, in the said plea of the said Thomas above-mentioned, was pleased to order, and did thereby order, that the said Hugh Starkey, Esq. and Richard Leving, Esq. Recorder, Aldermen, and Justices of the Peace, the said Right Hon. William, Earl of Derby, Col. Robert Werden, Sir Thomas Grosvenor, Sir Peter Pindar, Sir Richard Dutton, Peter Shakerley, Thomas Simpson, William Ince, Thomas Wilcock, and Robert Murrey, Aldermen and Justices of the Peace; the said William Wilme, Hugh Grosvenor, John Spark, William Wilson, Randal Oulton, Francis Skellerne, William Allen, William Starkey, Henry Bennett, William Bennett, Valentine Short, and Peter Bennett, Aldermen; the said Edward Starkey, and Jonathan Whitby, Sheriff's James Hutchinson, and Randal Vause, Leave-lookers; John Johnson, John White, Randal Holme, Elizeus Lloyd, Bradford Thropp, John Gouldbourne, Richard Taylor senior, Richard Taylor junior, John Minshall, Joseph Dyason, John Crichley, Caldecott Aldersey, Edward Partington, Randal Oulton, John Burroughs, Puleston Partington, Samuel Heath, Richard Oulton, Thomas Maddockes, Thomas Waringham, Henry Crosby, William Francis, Theodorus Alderoft, Richard Brett, Thomas Holland, Matthew Anderton, Thomas Johnson, John Warrington, Nathaniel Bullen, Charles Pindar, Hugh Bartley, Griffith Trygan, John Hale, Robert Moulson, Ralph Poole, and Edward Croughton, Common-Councilmen, should be, and they were thereby removed and displaced from their aforesaid offices and employments in the said city of Chester, to wit, at the city of Chester aforesaid, in the county of the same city. And the said Coroner and Attorney of our said Lord the now King, for the said Lord the now King, also says, that afterwards, to wit, on the said 12th day of August, in the said year of our Lord 1688, the said order in council, under the seal of the said privy-council, was signified to the said Hugh Starkey, Richard Leving, the Right Hon.
