  1. அன்ன மயம் இன்றிப் பின்னை மயம் இல்லை.
    There is no physical virtue in aught but food.
    The same as the preceding.
  2. அன்னம் மிகக் கொள்வானும் ஆடை அழுக்கு ஆவானும் பதர்.
    The glutton and the sloven are alike worthless.

    May we break through the wall of the house of those who fed us?
  4. அன்னம் ஒடுங்கினால் அஞ்சும் ஒடுங்கும்.
