  1. வையத்துள் நீதி செய்யத்தக்கது.
    It is proper to do justice in the world.
  2. வையத்தில் உயர்ந்தோர் சிலர் தாழ்ந்தோர் பலர்.
    In the world some are high, and many are low.
  3. வையத்தில் உயர்ந்தோர்க்கு இரை தாழ்ந்தோர்.
    In the world the low are the victims of the high.
  4. வையத்தில் உப்புக்கு ஏமாறின பேர் உடம்புக்கும் ஏமாறுவார்கள்.
    On earth those who are disappointed of salt will meet with disappointment as regards their body also.
  5. வையத்தில் உப்பில்லாத பேர்க்கு உடம்பு இல்லை.
    On earth those who have no salt have no body.
  6. வையத்தில் உடம்பு இல்லாதபேர்க்கு உப்பு வேண்டாம்.
    Those on earth who have not a body, have no occasion for salt.
  7. வையத்தில் உப்பும் வேண்டும் உடலும் வேண்டும்.
    While on earth salt, and a body, are indispensable.
  8. வையத்தில் உடம்பு இல்லாவிட்டாலும் உடைவேண்டும், பணம் இல்லாவிட்டாலும் கனம் வேண்டும்.
    Though destitute of personal beauty, clothing is needful, though destitute of money reputation is necessary.
  9. வையத்தில் வாழ்வாங்கு வாழ்பவன் தெய்வத்துள் வைக்கப்படும்.
    He who lives as he ought in this world, will be ranked with the gods.
  10. வையத்தில் மேலான பேர்க்குத் தாழ்மையான மனது இருக்க வேண்டும்.
    The great in the world must be distinguished by a humble mind.
  11. வையத்தில் நல்லோர் ஒருவரைக் கண்டது இல்லை.
    In all the world none really good, has been seen.
