    What is the good of giving to those who are not in want, and what is the good of a river flowing where work is being done?
  6. வேண்டி வினை செயேல்.
    Do not act from selfish motives.
  7. வேண்டி வேண்டிக் கொடுத்தாலும் வேண்டாம் என்றாற்போல.
    Like refusing to accept a thing when requested again and again.

    Domestic or ascetic life just as he pleases.

  10. வேதத்தில் நாலு விதம் உண்டு.
    Of Vedas there are four kinds.
  11. வேதத்திற்கும் விக்கிரகபத்திக்கும் பகை.
    The Vedas are opposed to idolatry.
  12. வேதத்தை அறியாத கிழவன் வீண்.
    The old man that knows not the Vedas, is worthless.
