  1. மூக்கு மயிர் பிடுங்கினால் ஆட் பாரம் குறையுமா?
    Will a person’s weight be diminished by pulling the hair out of his nose?
  2. மூக்கைப் பிடித்தால் சீவன் போகிறது.
    If the nostrils be closed, life will depart.
  3. மூக்கைப் பிடித்தால் வாய் ஆ வென்னத் தெரியாது.
    He knows not how to open his mouth when one closes his nostrils?
  4. மூங்கிற் பாயும் முறட்டுப் பெண்டாட்டியும்.
    A bamboo mat, and an obstinate wife.
  5. மூங்கில் இலைமேலை தூங்கு பனி நீரே.
    Thou art a dew drop depending from the leaf of a bamboo.
  6. மூடரோடு ஆடிய நட்புக் கடுவழியிற் கட்டை ஊடாடிய கால்.
    The friendship of fools is as the feet that have travelled by a jungle path covered with stumps of trees.
  7. மூடர் முன்பு மூர்க்கம் பேசாதே.
    Speak not harshly before fools.
  8. மூடர்கள் சேர்க்கையால் தப்பாமல் கெடுதி வரும்.
    The companionship of fools invariably leads to loss.

    Danger attends the friendship of fools.

    Adversity and disgrace form the lot of fools.
  12. மூடன் சண்டை மூட்டுப் பிரிக்கும், மோர்க்கடன் வீட்டைத் தொடும்.
    The quarreling of fools will break friendship, debt on account of buttermilk will affect one’s house.
