  1. பாடு படாமற் போனால் பலன் இல்லாமற் போகும்.
    Where there is no labour, there is no profit.

  7. பாத்திரம் அறிந்து பிச்சை இடு, கோத்திரம் அறிந்து பெண் கொடு.
    Give alms to the worthy, and your daughter to one of a good family.
  8. பாப்புக்கு மூப்பு இல்லை.
    Brahmans have no chiefs.
  9. பாமணி ஆற்றிலே பல்லை விளக்கு, முல்லை ஆற்றிலே முகம் கழுவு.
    Begin to clean your teeth at Pámani river, wash your face in Mullai river.
  10. பாம்பாட்டி பாம்பிலே, கள்ளன் களவிலே
    A snake charmer understands snakes, a thief understands thieving.
  11. பாம்பிலும் பாம்புக்குட்டி விஷம் அதிகம் வீரியமும் அதிகம்.
    A young snake is more poisonous and vigorous than an old one.
  12. பாம்பின் குட்டி பாம்பு அதன் குட்டி நட்டுவாக்காலி.
    The young one of a snake is a snake, and its young one is a scorpion.
