பழமொழி.
  1. சுய காரிய துரந்தரன் பரகாரிய பராமுகன்.
    Intent about his own affairs, he turns from others.
  2. சுரிகுழல் மனது சரி நடப்பது ஆர்?
    Who can act so as to please a woman?
  3. சுருட்டை சோறு இடும் பம்பை பால் வார்க்கும்.
    Curly hair will give rice, dishevelled hair will pour out milk.
  4. சுருதி சுகானுபோகம் இரண்டும் ஒத்தால் முத்தி.
    When religious precepts and physical enjoyment are in harmony, happiness is the resultant.
  5. சுருதி குரு சுகானுபவம் மூன்றும் ஒத்தது மெய்ப்பொருளாம்.
    When the vedas, the priest and enjoyment meet together, there is real wealth.
  6. சுரைப் பூவுக்கும் பறைப் பாட்டுக்கும் மணம் இல்லை.
    The flower of a bottle-gourd is not fragrant, the song of a pariah is not chaste.
  7. சுவருக்கும் காதுகள் உண்டு.
    Even a wall may have ears.
  8. சுவரை வைத்துக்கொண்டு அல்லவோ சித்திரம் எழுதவேண்டும்?
    You must first build the wall, must you not, and then adorn it with figures?
  9. சுவர்க்கத்திலே தோட்டியும் சரி தொண்டைமானும் சரி.
