- Even a fledgeling may scare the timid.

- Will one ignorant at five understand at fifty?
- Early instruction essential to future knowledge. The proverb may also suggest that growth in years will not make one, that is naturally dull, bright.

- Demons strike the timid.

- Act manfully, but modestly.
