  1. ஆறின கஞ்சி பழங்கஞ்சி.
    Cold kanji is old kanji.
  2. ஆறின புண்ணிலும் அசடு நிற்கும்.
    There will be a scab even after the wound is healed.
    Interrupted amity though restored will occasion suspicion.
  3. ஆறினால் அச்சிலே வார் ஆறாவிட்டால் மிடாவிலே வார்.
    If cool pour it into the mould, if not pour it into the large earthen pot.
  4. ஆறு கடக்குமளவும் அண்ணன் தம்பியெனல், ஆறு கடந்தால் நீயார் நானார்.
    To avow fraternal relationship until the river is crossed; and to ignore it om arriving at the opposite bank.
  5. ஆறு கலியாணம் மூன்று பெண்கள் மாரோடு மார் தள்ளுகிறது.
    Where six marriages are being celebrated three women are pressing and pushing.
  6. ஆறு காதம் என்கிறபோதே கோவணத்தை அ்விழ்ப்பானேன் ?
    Why loose your waist-cloth on mentioning that the river is yet ten miles off?
  7. ஆறு கெட நாணல் இடு ஊர்கெட நூலை இடு.
    Plant reeds to destroy a river, to destroy a country introduce yarn.
    Weavers who neglect tillage, and foul the water by dying processes &c are here referred to.
  8. ஆறு கொண்டது பாதி தூறு கொண்டது பாதி.
    The river has destroyed one half and the jungle the other.
  9. ஆறு நிறையச் சலம் போனாலும் பாய்கிறது கொஞ்சம் சாய்கிறது கொஞ்சம்.
    Though the river is in full flood part of it flows on in its course, and part diverges.
