It will be seen that the 5th, 9th, 10th and 11th of the above figures are all derived from the same source, viz., an official return. The amount mentioned in the Khulasat-ut-tawarikh[1] is clearly wrong. The rather high figures given by Bernier and Manucci are not necessarily incorrect, but may be due to the efficient administration of Khan-i-Dauran and Murshid Quli Khan respectively.
