While

have herein described a certain

specific method of constructing and assen bling the elements of my invention, it is understood same may be varied in minor details, not departing from the spirit of my invention as defined in the appended 15 claims. What claim to be new and patentable is: i. in a voting machine, a vertically mounted cylinder: horizontai rows of ports cut through the cylinder wall, a row or each record desired; arrows pivoted within the cylinder, one at each port and adapted to oscillate their heads therethrough; and means for moving said arrows as indicated. 2. in a voting machine, a vertically 25 mounted cylinder, horizontal rows of ports cut through the cylinder wall, a row for each record desired; arrows pivoted within 0

the cylinder, one at each port, and adapted to osciliate their heads therethrough; an automatic counter mounted to travel out 30 Wardly along each row of ports, said coun ter having a trigger adapted to engage said projected arrow heads; and means for mov ing said arrows as indicated. 3. A voting machine, comprising a verti 35 cally mounted cylinder; horizontal rows of ports cut, therethrough, a row for each rec ord desired; arrows pivoted within the cyl inder, one at each port and adapted to OS cillate their heads therethrough; push but 40 tons located to the hand of the voter, a but ton for each record desired; electromagnetic means for operating said arrows, said means being connected with and controlled by said buttons; and an automatic counter mount ed to travel outwardiy along each row of ports, said counter having a trigger adapt ed to engage said arrow heads as projected through said ports.
