The damage done to buildings embraced in this return was estimated[1] at 1866 ducats in the government return, a sum obviously not one-twentieth of the actual loss.
Except in the case of Signor Ajosso, the Intendente of Salerno, I found obstacles thrown in the way of giving me returns of the number of persons killed and wounded; and
