She dreſſed herſelf like a Duke,
with a' ſtar upon her bread.
And ſwore ſhe'd kill his Captain,
if he did her moleſt.
Her life ſhe boldly ventured,
for her true-love ſo brave,
Reſolved to be his bride,
or the ſeas to be her grave.

The ſhip was juſt a-ſailing,
when ſhe came to the ſea;
She call-d out to the Captain
before they ſail'd away.
The Officer Hood cap in hand,
this noble Duke to fſe,
Expecting ſhe was come,
their Commander to be.

But when ſhe ſaw her true love,
ſhe took him by the hand.
She ſaid, this is my ſervant-man,
and him I will demand;
For he has robb'd me of my ſtore,
and I will try him for his life.
She ventured life and fortune,
all for to be his wife.

So when ſhe had him fettered,
ſhe handed him along,
Saying, Now I will confine him
all in ſome prirson ſtrong.
