throned 13th April, on Palm Sunday, and the before- mentioned Annals place his death 27th March 1160.

1164 10 Hen. II.

ROGER, son of Robert, earl of Gloucester, was elected

24th March 1163-4, consecrated x Cal. Septemb.

(23rd Aug.) 11645[1], and enthroned 2nd Feb. 1164–5[2]. He died 9th Aug. 1179 at Tours in France, and was buried there[3].

1180 26 Hen. II.

BALDWIN, abbot of Ford, was consecrated 10th Aug. 1180[4]. He was translated to Canterbury in 1184.

1186 32 Hen. II.

WILLIAM DE NORTHALL, archdeacon of Gloucester, was

elected 21st Sept. 1186, and consecrated the same

day by archbishop Baldwin[5]. He died 3rd May 1190.[6]

1191 2 Ric. I. ROBERT, archdeacon of Nottingham, only son and heir of William Fitz-Ralph, seneschal of Normandy, was elected in July 1190, and confirmed by the bishop of Rochester; he was consecrated 5th May 1191[7]. He died 14th July 1193[8].

1193 5 Ric. I. HENRY DE SOLIACO or DE SOILLI, abbot of Glastonbury, was elected on the 4th, consecrated 12th Dec. 1193, and enthroned 6th Jan. following. He died 24th Oct. 1195[9].

1196 8 Ric. I. JOHN DE CONSTANTIIS, dean of Rouen and archdeacon of Oxford, was consecrated in the abbey of Ham near London by Hubert, archbishop of Canterbury, 20th Oct.[10], and enthroned 28th Oct. 1196. He died 24th Sept. 1198[11], and was buried in Worcester cathedral.
