958 Dunstan, abbot of Glastonbury[1], was consecrated bishop of Worcester by Odo archbishop of Canterbury in 958; translated to London in the same year.

960 Oswald, a monk, was made bishop of Worcester at the request of Dunstan[2], He was translated to York in 972[3]. He however hold the see of Worcester together with that of York till his death in 992[4]

993 Aldulf[5]., abbot of Peterborough, succeeded Oswald in both sees of Worcester and York in the year 993. He died 6th May 1002[6].

1002 Wlstan, the abbot, succeeded Aldulf both at York and Worcester, but he held the latter only till 1016. He died 28th May 1023, and was buried at Ely[7]

1016 Leofsu's or Lkotsixus, abbot of Thorney, succeeded in 1016 to Worcester[8]. He died 19th Aug. 1033, and was buried at Worcester[9].

1033 Brihteagus[10], abbot of Pershore, succeeded in 1033. He died 20th Doc. 1038[11].

1038 Lyfing, bishop of Devonshire or Crediton, was translated to Worcester by king Harold in 1038[12] He died in 1046[13].

1046 Aldred or Ealdred, abbot of Tavistock, succeeded in

  13. One copy of the Sax. Chron. says 1047, another copy 1044. In 1040 he was expelled from Worcester and the see given to Aelfric archbishop of York; but in the following year Lyfing was restored. "Ann. 1046. Livingus Wicciorum Domnaniae et Cornubi{{Subst:ae}} pr{{subst:ae}}sul, deciino Kal. Apirilis, die Dominica (23 March) obiit." (Hor. Wigorn.) Some writers place his death 19th March; others 20th March.
