that of the same 4 hides, Humphry Dansleville held of Eudo Dapifer 1 hide and I virgate and a half: but, when we look into Domesday, we shall find, in p. 194 b. that the part which Earl Alan held in Wimple is placed under his lands; and that the remainder of the lands in Wimple is under the title of Eudo Dapifer, p. 197. b.; and that the Inquisition and Domesday agree, except that the sheep, hogs, working horses, and asses, found by the first, are omitted in the survey.
