DR. GEORGIANA DVOŘÁK-THEOBALD.

One of the leading American Ophthalmologists is Dr. Georgiana Dvořák-Theobald, who at present is a member of the staff of the Rush Medical College, where she is the Clinical professor of Ophthalmology.
She was born of Czechoslovak parents in 1884 within the boundaries of the old Bohemian St. Wenceslaus’ Church on De-Koven Street in Chicago.
After she had graduated from the College of Physicians and Surgeons at the University of Illinois in 1906, she began to specialize in ophthalmology or the diseases of the¨eye. In 1912 she was appointed head ophthalmologist at the Illinois Ear and Eye Infirmary which position she holds to the present day. In 1922 she became the head ophthalmologist at the Mary Thompson Hospital in Chicago.
She is a member of the American Medical association and Chicago Ophthalmological Society. In 1920 she was connected with the Red Cross and did efficient work in Siberia and Europe, for which she received a decoration from the Italian Government. She is an eye specialist at 1801 S. Ashland Ave., Chicago.
