in 1867-70 and settled in Weimar in

Sir Edwin Landseer, Windsor Castle. A
young chief and his old companion, a
mountaineer, are going carefully down a
hill, with two magnificently antlered stags
bound across the backs of a black and a
white pony; two dogs accompany them,
one of which turns to a deer's skull lying
