handles, one with end blade slit and suspension hole, the second with a side blade slit near the point; the third of a whittling knife with small end blade socket; a miniature knife handle (?) (Pl. 84.6); wedge; ulo (Pl. 84.1); bodkin or similar (Pl. 84.5); marrow extractor; bone piece for a game (?); 7 indeterminable objects of bone (Pl. 83.7); small pointed piece of wood; stone ball.
House ruin 8. The wall built of flat stones; the house almost circular; in the direction of the doorway the diameter is 2.9 m, and 3 m at right-angles to this; the platform, which is covered with gravel, is 1.7 m wide; the floor is paved with flat stones; the doorway is 3 m long and faced SW.
The house was excavated to a depth of 1 m, and there were found: wound plug; two small arrow heads without barbs, with conical tang; drill haft (Pl. 85.10); two hand drills, the one small, of bone (Pl. 84.7), the other a haft with blade socket; bodkin of seal bone; tube of bird bone (needle case?); two thin bone shafts with scarf faces, one of whalebone.
House ruin 9. Almost circular; the interior filled with flat stones and turf. Excavation commenced but abandoned, as it seemed to be only little profitable.
House ruin 10. Almost circular; 4.2 m long in the direction of the doorway, 3.8 m broad, the doorway 3 m long. The walls built of stone with one piece of whale jaw-bone, and are fairly well preserved; there does not seem to have been a stone roof; presumably the tent has been laid over as a roof.
The specimens from this house give the impression of being comparatively new: small arrow head without barbs, with conical tang; fragment of arrow head, also with conical tang, sledge shoe, antler; knife handle with blade sockets in both ends; amulet box (Pl. 84.13); four indeterminable objects of bone.
House ruin 11. Length 2.8 m, breadth 2.3; doorway facing S. Very much collapsed and overgrown; the platform could not be distinguished. Excavated to a depth of 0.5 metre, bringing to light: piece of wooden bow (?); fragment and an unfinished arrow head with barb; gull hook (Pl. 82.12); salmon decoy (Pl. 82.15); sledge shoe, antler; two marrow extractors; five indeterminable objects of bone.
House ruin 12. Length 3 m, breadth 2.9 m. Otherwise like the foregoing. Excavated to a depth of 0.8 metres, and there were found: broken ice pick; unfinished arrow head with one barb and blade slit; three small arrow heads with one barb; leister prong; two knife handles, one long, with end blade slit, the other with a small side blade socket; two wedges; three marrow extractors or similar; piece of soapstone cooking pot (Pl. 84.4); three indeterminable bone objects, including a piece of a heavy whalebone shaft.
House ruin 13. Also very collapsed and overgrown; in this however the main platform can be distinguished. Length 4 m, breadth
