Here is to the continued success of "our" magazine for such we call it.

(There is a logical touch about this letter that appeals to us. He has read every issue since the first, and certainly the statement that the magazine is improving, from one who knows it so well, is extremely gratifying. We are arranging to have a great many stories by Mr. Verrill, whom you very properly admire, and the other authors whom you mention we are claiming, as in a sense, staff authors, they favor us with so many contributions. You will see from the Discussions Columns that many people desire to get back numbers. You will undoubtedly hear from some of them. Read the next letter.—Editor.)

Back Numbers of the Magazine Wanted—Write to Our Subscription Department

Editor, Amazing Stories:

I like your magazine very much. It has such excellent stories in it.

I wonder if it would be possible to secure reprints of stories that have run in your Amazing Stories Magazine. If so, I should like to have one of "The Stone from the Green Star." It ran in the October and November issues of 1931. It was by Jack Williamson.

I bought the October issue out-of-town and could not obtain the next issue. I did not discover they were sold in this town until just a few months ago.

Edmund M. Irwin,
104 Turrill Avenue,
Lapeer, Michigan.

(For early numbers of Amazing Stories, you should apply to our Subscription Department. We have a constant demand for old issues of the magazine and have considerable difficulty in supplying them. We will enter your demand with our Subscription Department and we shall hope that you will hear from the manager satisfactorily.—Editor.)

Statement of an Error in the Description of Radio in the "World of the Living Dead"

Editor, Amazing Stories:

I have been a reader of Amazing Stories for quite a number of years and have read some very excellent stories in it. I must also say that I have read many poor ones in it, too. Up to now I have kept silent even when I struck a particularly terrible story, but there was something in the December issue that was too much for me. In "The World of the Living Dead" there is a description of the operation of a radio transmitter on board a yacht. Commander Britt pressed the key, but no spark leaped the gap. That was all right so far, because it might be possible that the yacht was equipped with an out-of-date spark transmitter, but the story goes on to say that the vacuum tubes were burned out. New ones were placed in the transmitter, whereupon "instantly the spark-plug flashed. Wiggling snakes of violet flame
