Teale and other wyld doule that ſwimmeth. A woodcocke is beſt from Octobꝛe to lent, and ſo be all others byꝛdes, as Ouſels, and Thꝛuſhes, Robins, and ſuch other, Hearōs, Curlewes, Crane, (illegible text), Buſſarde, be at all tymes good, but beſt in winter, Feaſants, Patriche and Raile, be euer good, but beſt when they bee taken with a Hauke. Quayle and Larkeks be euer in ſeaſon Connyes be euer good, but beſt from Octobꝛe to lent. A gelded Deare whether hee be fallow oꝛ red, is euer in ſeaſon. A Pollard is ſpeciall good in Maye at midſommer he is a Buck, and very good tyll Holy Roode daye befoꝛe Myghelmas, ſo likewiſe in a ſtagge, but he is pꝛincipall in May.
