MORNING.

1806.

Aurora streaks the tranquil skies,
With gleams of golden light;
And every sable vapour flies,
That shrouds the sullen night:
But see! a dew-drop bathes the Rose,
And glistens on the thorn—
'Tis Nature's tear, that sweetly flows
For Joy to meet the morn.
