COSTOBO′CI (Κοιστοβῶκοι, Ptol. iii 5. § 21; Κοστουβῶκοι, Dion Cass. lxxi. 12; Costobocci, Plin. vi. 7; Costobocae, Amm. Marc. xxii. 8. § 42; Costoboci, Capitolin. M. Antonin. c. 22), a people of Dacia, probably belonging to the Wendish stock (Schafarik, Slavische Alterthum, vol. i. p. 122). Their position has been sought in the district of Tschernigow.
