BASANTE, a town in Lower Pannonia, called ad Basante in Peutinger. Table, whereas in several Itineraries (Ant. p. 131, Hier. p. 563) and by Ptolemy (ii. 16. § 8) it is called Bassiana (Βασσίανα). Ruins of the place are still existing near the village of Dobrincze.
