ARUALTES (ὁ Ἀρουάλτης ὄρος), a mountain of Inner Libya, placed by Ptolemy a little to the N. of the Equator, in 33° long. and 3° N. lat., in a part of Central Africa now entirely unknown. In it were the peoples Nabathrae (Ναβάθραι) and Xulicces (Ξυλικκεῖς Αἰθίοπες), the latter extending to M. Arangas. (Ptol. iv. 6. §§ 12, 20, 23.)
