Mercury in Aries.—This gives culture, great power of intellect, refinement, studiousness and interesting conversation. It is progressive, poetic, with a love of the beautiful and a delight in anything new and original. It possesses good business ability, literary talent, and sometimes makes successful politicians.

Mercury in Taurus.—This increases the health and strength, sociability, and ideality of Mercury, and makes inspirational teachers of ethics. It gives sensitiveness, and fear of pain, and somewhat decreases its logic, stability and self-control. This sign should guard against changeableness, passion and irritability.

Mercury in Gemini.—This is a good tempered, sociable, attractive, cultured sign, inclined to studiousness, and a love of elegance and wealth. It loves to work, and is generally successful either in a literary or mechanical direction. It ​is a speaking, singing, somewhat passionate, convivial nature, and should guard against carrying its joviality too far.

Mercury in Cancer.—This adds health and strength, a good voice, and domesticity to the nature, with a fine protecting, parental love, and an inclination toward a scientific profession. This sign loves elegance, style, culture, brilliance and grace, and generally excels in them.

Mercury in Leo.—This gives wilfulness, frankness, originality, passion, harmony, impulsiveness and a strong love-nature. It is sociable, dependent, self-assured, desirous to lead and sympathetic. This sign usually marries early.

Mercury in Virgo.—This is a healthful sign, with good imagination, governing power, endurance, mechanical ability and a desire for wealth and position. It is inclined to be passionate, and lack self-control and directness, but makes good heads of households and successful politicians.

Mercury in Libra.—This increases the sociability, humor, and expressiveness of the sign, and gives perception, sarcasm and brilliancy. It adds pride and a tendency to ups and downs of ​temper and spirits. With self-control it can win great success.

Mercury in Scorpio.—Mercury in this sign gives added strength, grace, refinement, vivacity, endurance and power.

It is very active, sociable and eloquent, and there is some danger of overdoing.

This nature should guard against selfishness and insincerity.

Mercury in Sagittarius.—This is a changeable sign, at one time friendly, sympathetic and indulgent, at another, harsh, defensive, calculating, exacting and severe. It is too hasty, active and superstitious, but gains in muscular strength. More self-control would make it very successful.

Mercury in Capricornus.—This gives love of travel, wealth and humor, with an ambitious, fickle, sociable, wayward disposition. It is economical, passionate, practical, forgiving, somewhat superstitious and changeable, and succeeds better working for others than itself.

Mercury in Aquarius.—This is a changeable sign, full of moods and restlessness. It is either home loving or lives an entirely public life, is ​sometimes direct and frank, sometimes underhand and tricky. It has good business ability, is active and passionate, lacks self-control and hates restraint.

Mercury in Pisces.—This adds artistic ability, restlessness, love of travel and beauty, especially of scenery, to the nature. It is too active for its own endurance, very fond of walking, and from babyhood will have a tendency to run away.

Venus in Aries.—This gives good fortune, grace, activity, and ideality of the love-nature, which makes it hard to find a suitable mate. It increases the musical and literary talents, and tends to over-confidence in shaky business schemes.

Venus in Taurus.—This adds sensitiveness, calmness, spirituality, persistence and grace, but tends to increase inconstancy and morbidness. It is generally high minded, though at times passionate, with strong likes and dislikes, and a lack of endurance.

Venus in Gemini.—This gives studiousness, delicacy of expression, light-heartedness and intellectuality, and makes better teachers and speakers than housekeepers. But there is a ​good deal of romance, and a peculiar faculty for inheriting family traits.

Venus in Cancer.—This sign is one of the strongest in love of beauty, brilliance, power and elegance. Its love of home and family is tender and devoted, and it has the gift of shining both at home and abroad. It is sensitive, attractive, careful and tasteful.

Venus in Leo.—This gives changeableness, vividness and delicacy of thought, and an intense love-nature. It is harmonious in expression, refined, hopeful and zealous, but if perverted, can be passionate, morose, fretful, and selfish. With self control and stability this sign is very successful.

Venus in Virgo.—This increases the love of home and family, and gives faithfulness, intuition, sympathy and kindness. This is a healthy, stalwart, graceful, somewhat jealous sign, with a tendency to protect and educate.

Venus in Libra.—This is a gentle, calm, spiritual sign, full of pity, dignity and graciousness. It gives intuition, ideality and intellect and a great love of harmony.

​Venus in Scorpio.—This gives keen insight, self-will, criticism, and combativeness. It is a selfish, passionate, unsympathetic sign, with a tendency to sarcasm and irony. It is exacting and severely just and should cultivate sympathy, gentleness and self-control.

Venus in Sagittarius.—This is a pleasing, devoted, accomplished, graceful, wealthy sign, active, energetic and capable. It has a beautiful domestic love, and is artistic and spiritual, a little inclined to jealousy and lack of confidence, but usually happy.

​Venus in Pisces.—This nature is calm, active, self-complacent, restless, with an intense love-nature, and an inclination to nervousness. When perverted, it becomes underhanded, passionate, fretful and morbid.

Mars in Aries.—This is an intellectual, careful, neat, economical, aggressive sign, with a love of exploration and reform, and a high ideal of domestic life. It has a strong desire to teach and elevate mankind, and also to domineer over others.

Mars in Taurus.—This adds courage, self-defense, love of science and wealth, and a tendency toward progress, conquest and war. It has an intense, almost animal instinct of love and protection for its children, and is sensitive and self-complacent in its nature.

Mars in Gemini.—This is a gainful, emulative sign, with a great love of knowledge, educational reform, science and culture. It is successful in teaching, lecturing and trading and is interested in the home and children, but lacks true domesticity. It is a variable nature, independent, reasonable, and always freedom loving.

​Mars in Cancer.—This greatly increases the domestic love-nature, is aggressive and forceful, and gives courage in defense of home. It adds to the health and strength, is cautious, economical, tasteful, and sometimes lacking in frankness.

Mars in Leo.—This gives an argumentative, mercenary, selfish impulse to Leo, with good business push and power, fearlessness, caution and self-defense. It is exceedingly domestic and indulgent, somewhat irritable, and inclined to be dissatisfied.

Mars in Virgo.—This is a contradictory nature, positive, pretentious, ill-tempered and intemperate. It lacks directness, and is somewhat inclined to forget its debts. It should not criticise in others what it does itself, and should practice self-control on its own passionate nature, instead of domineering over others.

Mars in Libra.—This gives caution, shrewdness, perception, courage, self-preservation and a disposition to acquire wealth and protect its family. It has powerful foresight, magnetism, antagonism and revenge and is inclined to be selfish and passionate.

Mars in Scorpio.—This gives a strong family ​love and great respect for blue blood and aristocratic connections. It is a somewhat selfish, passionate sign, with a leaning toward conventionality, and a liking for a public life. It should guard against its domineering tendencies and love of flattery.

Mars in Sagittarius.—This turns all the energies toward the home and family, making indulgent, unwise parents, with more love of wealth than education. It is an impatient, irritable, exacting sign, severe and law-abiding, and is successful in mechanics and manufacturing.

Mars in Capricornus.—Mars here makes the Capricornus business nature, fiery, aggressive, industrious and active. It also causes a love for and indulgence to children, and an interest in education and science. It is very gainful, severe and unbending in business, and is usually successful, but occasionally loses its friends thereby.

Mars in Aquarius.—This gives sociability, love of travel and making new friends, pride of appearance and conventionality. It should cultivate discretion and avoid meddling and making discord. It lacks domesticity.

Mars in Pisces.—This adds more courage to ​the anxious Pisces nature, and makes it severe and critical. It is kind and loving, but somewhat dissatisfied, and has an unfortunate habit of choosing antagonistic companions, which renders the domestic relations inharmonious. This sign lacks frankness, is easily angered, shrewd and proud.

Jupiter in Aries.—This gives intellectuality and a love of beauty, magnificence, sublimity and stateliness. It is a proud, somewhat extravagant sign, original, imaginative and literary. Its self-control is good and it has a tendency toward law.

Jupiter in Taurus.—This is an energetic, hopeful, healthy sign, sensitive and prophetic, with a tendency to dominate everything else. It is exact, inspirational, afraid of pain and inclined to appreciate the good things of life.

Jupiter in Gemini.—This nature is lovable, brave, kind, humorous, gracious and just. It loves elegance, culture and knowledge, has an indomitable will and a gift for oratory. It does not fear adversity and wins success through its sweet disposition.

Jupiter in Aquarius.—This tends toward publicity and decreases domesticity. It is a strong-limbed, ambitious, domineering sign, in which are found many successful politicians.

Jupiter in Pisces.—This is an active, traveling, restless, enduring, artistic sign, with great persistence, capability and accuracy. It is fond of ​elegance and display, and has a talent for traveling agencies and dealing in lands. It has much generosity and is naturally fitted for the position of foreign consul.

Saturn in Aries.—This is a commercial, literary, sagacious, businesslike sign, with clear-headed perceptions and harmonious expression. It is intellectual, scientific and inventive, with fine mechanical abilities and much success in transportation and publishing.

Saturn in Taurus.—This gives logic, stubbornness, order, intuition, eccentricity and a disposition to domineer. It gives a love of art and poetry and a faculty for composition, and is sensitive and benevolent. It is severe, self-assured, critical and religious, and should avoid sullenness and cultivate graciousness.

Saturn in Cancer.—This adds strength and en​durance and a strong love of the home, music and social reform. It is an orderly, harmonious, peaceful sign, lacking self-control and stability, and should avoid quarrels, jealousy, and the use of stimulants. It is very hard for it to acknowledge its faults.

Saturn in Leo.—This is a contradictory nature, generous, harmonious and loving at one time, and aggressive, exacting and destructive at another. It is an intense, dominant, aspiring, unsatisfied sign, idealistic and ardent in its love-nature, which subjects it to keen disappointments. Saturn in Pisces.—This gives keen perceptions, activity, love of travel and military positions, with a tendency to melancholy, intemperance and irritability. Uranus in Gemini.—This gives studiousness and a taste for the occult sciences, with a changeable and eccentric nature, which is shown by its ​speech and actions, and its odd choice of friends. It is naturally metaphysical with a strong inclination to teach psychology. It possesses much distrust, uncertainty and fickleness, and though fond of its own family is not capable of much love.

Uranus in Cancer.—This is a selfish, cynical, domineering, accurate sign, with large economy, love of home and children and patriotism. It loves the weird and peculiar in life and is fond of collecting antique bric-a-brac and strange pictures. Melancholy and ill health are induced by inharmonious domestic relations and as this sign is very hard to please it should choose its mates carefully.

Uranus in Leo.—This is an industrious, religious, domestic, protective sign, with strong intuitions, imagination and refinement. It is critical, keen-sighted and diplomatic, with a great love of children, and a lack of frankness.

Uranus in Virgo.—Uranus here awakens a great love of country, connections and family, especially of the children for parents. It is a gainful, comfort-loving sign, and suffers much from inharmony while eating. Fine physicians ​are found in it, and a love of agriculture, stock-raising, and the unseen and mysterious.

Uranus in Libra.—This is a scheming, money-loving sign, constantly taking advantage of every one but its own family. If spiritualized it becomes refined, strong, powerful and perceptive, with wonderful foresight and a tendency to have peculiar dreams.

Uranus in Scorpio.—This is gainful, selfish, wilful, tricky, cynical and liberty loving. If spiritualized it gains in self-control and conventionality and becomes very attractive.

Uranus in Sagittarius.—This gives obedience, mechanical ability, meddlesomeness, and a dissatisfied, unhappy, timid nature. If highly endowed this sign possesses more self-control, spiritual foresight and courage, takes life more calmly and finds its happiness in its home.

Uranus in Capricornus.—This gives a strong love of nature, good business ability and an investigating mind. It becomes expert in electrical engineering, and interested in psychology.
