Ambition, and Other Poems/Heaven and Earth
Heaven and Earth
It may be true the stars are worlds,
And twenty times the earth in size;
But all I know, or care to know,
Is in the limit of my eyes.
Which proves that any star can see
Her face in one small drop of dew;
And that the Moon, the lovely Moon,
With half her heaven of stars in view,
Can see their beauty, all in full,
Down in one little wayside pool.
And twenty times the earth in size;
But all I know, or care to know,
Is in the limit of my eyes.
Which proves that any star can see
Her face in one small drop of dew;
And that the Moon, the lovely Moon,
With half her heaven of stars in view,
Can see their beauty, all in full,
Down in one little wayside pool.
